Shipping Restrictions due to EU Packaging Laws

Short Version:

Sorry that we cannot ship to all EU countries - we simply cannot afford the fees of multiple 100€ per country!

You can, of course, use a parcel forwarder as a work around, but we cannot give advice on which one to use.

Long Version:

Due to the EU packaging law directive [Wikipedia] [EU Directive] we need to register with the waste management system in the respective destination coutries and and license the packaging amounts.

In general that is a good thing, because it reduces waste. However, there is no unified system which allows us to do so.

Problems:

  • Every EU country has their own system(s)
  • Information is often not available in english
  • Some countries like Austria and Greece require a representative inside the country
  • Registration fees are often several 100 Euro per year
  • Many countries do not have exceptions for small companies

Even if the fee per EU country as only 100€ (which it isn't), that would make 1000€ alone.

The only EU countries we ship to are those which do not require licensing for very small quantities. We genuinely hope that the EU will create updated laws so that small businesses like us can ship to every EU country without huge initial costs.

We're not saying that we don't want to pay for waste disposal, but it's just not feasible to pay 100s of Euro per country when we ship maybe 1-2 parcels per year to these countries.
